John R. Pike
John Pike was a founding member of the
Patriot Daylily Society
well known for his beautiful daylily
photography.
He passed away in early August 03.
His wife Martha has set up a Memorial Fund in his name for PDS.
The interest from the fund will be used for prizes
for a yearly historic daylilies photography
contest
John had
pointed out this seedling as one he was especially fond of, so George
Doorakian named it for him. This
daylily polytepals 87% of the time, and is a dormant dip with 5 way
branching on a 30" scape. It makes an excellent polytepal parent.

Marty Wray
Marty was a well loved Nurse Practitioner and an enthusiastic member of
PDS and Tinkers. She passed away suddenly in February 2006. A
Memorial Fund for PDS was requested by her husband Bill. This fund is used
to support our daylily
babysitting program.
Marty chose this
George Doorakian daylily to be named for herself. It is a hardy vigorous
dormant Tet, and practically glows in your garden. The petals often pinch at the
tips, giving it a distinctive shape. |
