JOHN R. PIKE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST Rules for JOHN R. PIKE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST 2008 Winners of John Pike Photo Contest
John Pike had a special interest in preserving heritage daylilies. This contest encourages the appreciation and preservation of historic daylilies as well as contemporary hybrids. Any member of the Patriot Daylily Society may enter a maximum of five images in any category. Digital photographs must be emailed to Patsy Cunningham (patham@cox.net) before the February 9 meeting for entry in the contest. The photo files should be sent as an attachment in an email. They can also be mailed on a CD or DVD to Patsy Cunningham, 54 Mount Vernon Blvd. Pawtucket, RI 02861. The filename must include the following info to facilitate sorting and presentation: name of cultivar, breeder, date of intro, category it belongs in, your name or initials. For example: " Al Abel Doorakian 2005 4a Patsy.jpg " or " alabeldoorakian2005patsy4a.jpg ". Remember that winners will be printed at about 8x10 or 9.5 x 11 ', so they should not be small low resolution files. Feel free to call or email me with questions if you do not know how to rename your files.. A monetary prize will be awarded for first place in each of the ten categories and winners will be featured in the large photos of our PDS 2009 calendar. CATEGORIES 1. Pre-1950 introductions a.
